Introduction
Many believe that sports now a day are not doing a great job of protecting the athletes. The main concern amongst most of these critics seems to be brain related inuries in the sprots world in paticular football. However, the league is hearing complaints from three main different ctegories of people, them being: retires players. current players, and the fan base. It seems that these three groups all want different things from the comissioner which puts him in a constant dilemma on what to do.

Review
With the heat on the league to make some changes it is trying to eliminate usage of the head as much as possible in football. The league believes with the new rules they are making it forces athletes to avoid putting their head in less potently dangerous situations. Howver with the changes current players are complaining along with the fan base.
Response
Sports are taking proper precautions in many ways. In football itself more rule changes are being made every year in particular for the safety of one’s head and the issue of brain injuries in sports. The fact of the matter is there has always been a connection with brain injuries/damage and sports and it will continue to be that way as long as contact sports exist. In fact the issue of brain damage and sports is only more relevant now then it was back then to the sports world because more players are suing the leagues and not because there are more players who suffer from brain damage then in the past. To me their seems to be a communication issue amongst in genreal the retired playes, current players, and fans. Each of these gruops all have different stance in the issue, in some cases even inside each category there seems to be confusion and contraversy on what they actaully want as a group. For example one common trend is that the retired players are all now suing the league due to post injuries such as brain injuries. So because the league keeps being sued over the same thing, they fill the need to change the way the game is changed so future law-suits are limited. But the fans are fusterated now because they do not agree with the new rules that are being acclimated. They claim this is not the same game that they love and support. A lot of fan's even go as far to say that the league is soft now and is embarrasing. The current players however vary amongst what they want. A lot of the players do not like the rule changes because this is not the way they were taught to play football. And if they so happen to not follow the rules whether on purpose or not they will be fined by the league. However some player do like the rule changes claiming that they feel safer playing the sport now. They like the idea that a longer healthier career (meaning more money) is more likely to occur now.
Conclusion
So to me the problem is not that the league is eithering doing a good or a bad job protecting the players, it's what do these three categories of people really want. Before anybody can pass judgment on what the league is doing you have to make up as unit what you really want the league to do! Us as fans have to realize that at the end of the game football is just a game and the players safety always should come first. And the current players have to realize at the end of the day the N.F.L is a busniess, meaning money is a huge factor. So if retired player continue to sue the league for post career injureis the comissioner is almost forced to make changes to the game to eliminate the possibilty of all these lawsuits in the future. Before we all get upset about what is going on we need to look at the big picture and figure out what really is going on.
